Dr. Maria is a native Pennsylvanian and completed his undergraduate degree with honors at the University of Scranton. He earned his medical degree at Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C.
He went on to serve his country as an Army Physician and completed his internship at Brooke Army Medical Center, Ft. Sam Houston, Texas before being assigned as a Flight surgeon in Wiesbaden Germany.

He returned to Washington, D.C. to do his ophthalmology residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center where he was appointed Chief Resident. After completing his military career he moved his family and began practicing in Lebanon.

He provides comprehensive medical and surgical eyecare with special expertise in Cataracts, Laser procedures and oculoplastic surgery. He also has expertise in cosmetic facial enhancements to include BOTOX, Restylane, and Microdermabrasion.

Dr. Maria is active in organized Ophthalmology at the State and National level. He is currently the President of the Pennsylvania Academy of Ophthalmology. He serves as a congressional liaison for the American Academy of Ophthalmology and has helped author a textbook on "The Profession of Ophthalmology."

Dr. Maria resides in the Cornwall-Lebanon area with his wife and children. He is a Boy Scout leader and an avid tennis player in his spare time.
